NY Fashion Week SUPERSIZED !

I was so happy to hear the good news about the New York fashion week 2010 ! The event seemed to be special for alot of people including myself ! I just wish I would have or could have been there for that moment ! I think this gives everyone in the industry and outside of the industry to see something realistic and something that should be embraced !

Plus sized women are the women I fight for and believe in because they are beautiful to ! I just felt like this fashion week was a moment in history for bigger more curvier women ! I can't wait to be apart of that landmark where every woman can feel beautiful in their skin without having to follow a specific image !

NICKI MINAJ !

I'm not sure how anyone else feels about this but I cannot wait for her debut album ! I feel like I know what to expect but then again I really don't know what to expect ! I think this is THE most anticipated album of the year ! Young Money is doing their thing !

I think Nicki will be very successful ! To all the hatters who feel like she is just a fake and that she's just a wannabe you have another thing coming ! This woman has actually went to school for what she does so I'm pretty sure she knows what she is doing ! I guess we can all just wait and see ! =]

WHERE ARE ALL THE PLUS SIZED MODELS ?!

Hello fellow bloggers ! I know its been a while & I have to get used to blogging ! I have been feeling great I must admit ! I started my dieting and work out on Monday and I am very proud of myself ! I know I'm all about the PLUS SIZED DIVAS and this is not to lose weight or anything it's just to tone me up & get me right in all the right places !

But anyway I was just Googling some plus sized models and I came across this BEAUTIFUL plus sized model and I fell in love ! I love this picture and I will tell you why : 1) This is a REAL woman (OKAYYY) ! Whoever decided to show a roll on the side was a GENUIS !!!! 2) She is FIERCE ! & 3) She is working it !!

This lady has defined the definition of a SEXY plus size model ! But the question I would like the answer to is "Where are these beautiful women in high end magazines"? It's not just where are they, but why aren't they being blown up somewhere ? I should see a plus sized model everywhere I go ! Not just everywhere I go but I should see them on lots of advertisements and billboards ! They should be in videos and movies and on MAJOR runways not just because they model, but because they are beautiful !

I'm not sure how anyone else feels about this and I really don't care but I feel women like this should be all over the world ! =]


MSG: Big is beautiful !! As long as you're healthy and you know it, we should all embrace bigger women instead of feeding our youth these lies that skinny is perfect when that is far from the truth ! I'm not saying big is perfect but's it's realistic just as well as skinny can be realistic ! =]

I LOVE BEING....ME !!!

Hello everyone ! Welcome to my very first blog !!!! :)

I wanted to start off by introducing myself & sending off a positive message!

Well, my name is TaVonya & most people know me as TaVonya Chanteau or TT ! I am 19yrs old, born in Williamsburg, VA! I am blessed to have my beautiful family and friends. I sing, write music, & act on occasion! :)

I have always been in the double digits when it came to my weight except when I was about 10 and under ! I have always been known to be a more thick & curvy young lady! It wasn't until I was about 17 & 18 where I felt less of a woman ! I had always been called names & I went through the normal things teenagers went through, but I felt my worse in 17 & 18 !

When I was 16yrs old my grandmother had passed away & I believe that was a turning point for me ! Not even 5 or 6 months after she had passed my family moved from Baltimore, Maryland to Georgia and I think that made matters much worse ! To top it all off with a cherry/strawberry my mother had gotten deployed to Afghanistan ! So between 2007 until the present my life has been an emotional roller coaster !

I have shifted from a size 9/10 to a 14 in jeans and about a 2-3x in shirts !! Now am I depressed & stressed out.......NOT EVEN CLOSE ! I feel so beautiful now & the more & more I see women around my size who are HEALTHY it makes me proud & happy to be who I am ! I enjoy shopping at the mall & buying things for myself.....I will admit though it does get very frustrating, but I have learned to accept and love me !

So I guess this starts my blog off !
